Faulty Radio unit [or not??] - Multispacer - 08-05-2016 I have the standard single din Citroen CD/Radio unit in my recently acquired 2008 multispace XTR. I have noticed that when I switch off the RDS tuning on the radio, if I change stations or after I have turned the radio off and back on again, the RDS turns itself back on. Is this a fault with my specific unit or is it the way it is set up [is everybody else's radio the same?] The reason I want to turn RDS off is that I seem to be in one of those areas where I am at the fringes of reception for various stations, so with RDS on, it tends to hunt around [or momentarily go silent while searching for a stronger signal] I used to have the same problem on my old Berlingo M59 model but I just turned the RDS off and it stayed off... RE: Faulty Radio unit [or not??] - Multispacer - 22-10-2016 Forgot to update this thread in the past. Turns out there wasn't a fault with the radio at at, it is just the weirdest set-up procedure I have ever come across regarding de-selecting the RDS. Rather than just selecting the RDS off in the menu [if you do that it switches on again when you either switch the radio off of change station] what you have got to do to switch off the RDS permanently on the station of your choice is to tune to the station, then select RDS off for that station through the menus, then save the station to one of the presents. Now that station is saved without RDS and will stay like that even when you tune to another station or switch off. You then have to repeat the same procedure with any other stations you want to store without RDS being on. |
