Radiator hose O ring - alive23512 - 18-05-2016 Hello all, Anyone out there know where I can get a O ring on-line? Spent ages searching on the net and drawn a blank. I'm trying to avoid a 34 mile round trip to the main stealer. How difficult is it for one to be provided with the new radiator when it is an obvious requirement. Grrrrrr. I'm still having a struggle detaching the bottom hose so will probably end up sending for a mobile mechanic. In that case, I would really like to have all the parts here ready. Vehicle is a '98 1.9d motorhome XUD9. RE: Radiator hose O ring - Landmark - 18-05-2016 Hi, Is it a "quick fit" connection? In which case you need to ease up the metal clip and pull the hose out. The hose will have a metal end to it. Griff RE: Radiator hose O ring - alive23512 - 18-05-2016 (18-05-2016, 04:51 PM)Landmark Wrote: Hi, Is it a "quick fit" connection? The ''problem'' is a bayonet fitting with plastic locking tabs. Had another go tonight but then had a much better idea and I'm drinking it right now. It looks like rain is going to keep me away from my vehicle for the next 3 days. Cheers (!) Tony L P.S. How strange - my current bedtime reading is the Griff Rhys Jones autobiography - a very good read. RE: Radiator hose O ring - polar - 19-05-2016 If i remember rightly the o rings are a very odd size as the cross section is very thin so it may well be a trip to the dealers or an hydraulic specialist may be able to help. Sorry im not much use am i! RE: Radiator hose O ring - divingdad - 19-05-2016 Have a look at, sealforce53 on Ebay. They supply all sorts in odd sizes and in small quantities. I used them last year for O rings for my brewing kit. You are plenty use polar. Thank you for your advice which I have taken. Another 34 mile round trip today and the O ring is ordered (pack of 5 min. amount). To be collected from main Peugeot stealer tomorrow - another 34 mile round trip. It is good that I have a spare vehicle but it is not so good that it is a Jimny!!! Thanks again. I will most certainly have a look at sealforce53 for future reference. Thank you for trying to help this old git. Tony L |
