Engine mounts - giggity - 07-10-2016

Which of the engine mounts, being worn, could cause the engine to 'shudder' on start up? Also when driving if you tap and release the accelerator peddle you can feel the shake in the gearstick..2007 1.9d.. thanks in advance..

could be any of the them ,

1/  right upper at the drivers side.

2/  g/box mounted one on passenger side

3/ bottom one under the drivers feet. this is the most likely one.

try to move them with a lever . it could be just one or a little wear in them all.

had two of mine done yesterday. gearbox and rear mount cost £70 from citroen. had them fitted at a garage i use.
both mounts had had it.
now when you turn on/off, it doesn't sound like the engine is going to come through the bulkhead......

and my car is a 2.0hdi in a 4 plate and had 100k on it.

Yesterday cost £20. and that was for the gearbox one. the rear was fitted free.

the reason. I had the rear one done a couple of months back and the mount they fitted was a smidgen to small so they used epoxy resin to glue it in place.
they said it will be fine but obviously it failed.
If i remember correctly, the cost of having that fitted was about £60 and that was for the labour and the part.

I have always used these two lads for work and mot's and always will. honest and fair and always busy.

plus if you pay cash..........wink wink!  Wink
