From what I understand, the cable is the important, and hence expensive, part.

You can get a CD with the software cheaply and easily, but there is some box of black magic built into the cable that allows it all to talk to each other. Apparently the cheap Galetto's and KWP's etc don't work with Lexia or Planet

Had a good old wiggle of my cables and alas my light will not go off Sad

Check the airbag ECU and earthing points below the centre console before going any further

Will do

How exactly do I get to those earthing points Coco? Confusedcratch:

When you remove the centre console all will become clear :eek:

Disconnect the battery first and have the drivers window down in preparation for the reconnect procedure.

Unplug the ECU and check the connectors. The earth points just need unbolting, cleaning up and replacing.

While you are doing all of this, pull apart the underseat connectors, clean them up and make sure they are connecting properly.

If all this fails, we still have some more suggestions, but these are the easiest.

I had this problem as well on my Berlingo and I thought it was the wires under the seat so I fixed them and it went away, job done I thought until next day it was on again. I had changed my indicator stock as well as the old one indicated right 3 times then turned the lights on and stopped indicating so I checked all my work again after disconnecting the battery for a few hours took the airbag off and the wiring behind it seemed ok but I took the wire off the airbag and connected it up again put it all back together and that's it working again with no problems. my indicator stalk was bought from a scrapyard for £30 and it was off a Peugeot 307

The air bag light was on when I bought my 03 2.0 hdi but the garage I bought it from kindly switched it off when I collected it. Sure enough, a day later the light came back on.
I`ve read the fixes here and checked the under seat connector and both wires have continuity according to my multimeter.
Also, I changed the earth under the air bag like this:

The light is still on though. Before I solder together the under seat connector would the light go out after being fixed or does the setting in the ecu need to be reset too?

Is your seat belt stalk a pretensioner type , if so check it hasn't been activated

Another wiggle of the under seat connection has fixed it. Thanks for the advice guys Smile

my lingo (1.9d 03) failed MOT last week because of air bag light on on dash, sure enough a little wiggle under the seat did the trick, then passed straight away Big Grin Big Grin
