Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - craigblues - 17-11-2012 I want to fit some new tie down rings, anyone added additional rings before? RE: Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - evdama - 18-11-2012 No -but the obvious is big plates underneath-screwfix /builders merchants will have galvanised stuff ready made-then underseal when your done. Is 6 not enough? My guests never manage to wriggle free. RE: Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - craigblues - 18-11-2012 You can never have enough. ha! Well actually I have a plywood floor currently and was consider fixing some to that just to strap a few things down so they don't slide around... RE: Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - evdama - 18-11-2012 How about these then-you would still need washers on the underside to stop the fixings pulling through the ply with all the struggling. http://www.screwfix.com/p/hardware-solutions-ring-on-plate-zinc-plated-m8/89565 RE: Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - craigblues - 18-11-2012 (18-11-2012, 05:50 PM)evdama Wrote: How about these then-you would still need washers on the underside to stop the fixings pulling through the ply with all the struggling. Not bad idea... I would need to find some fairly flat bolt heads... Hunt is on... RE: Fitting New Tie Down Rings/Loops - Ol'Jeffers - 18-11-2012 Roofing bolts?? You drill a smaller size hole then bash them in from under the ply.The square bit then bites into the ply and stops the turning when you tighten the nut. I fitted two additional Tie down rings today. :-) Drilled through the floor and bolted properly either side. Works a treat. |
