Roof box - j90xxx - 06-05-2011

Looking for a used roof box.
Nothing huge.
Anyone selling one, or any recommendations on what I should be looking for?
Regards,
Martin.

RE: Roof box - Chris - 07-05-2011

I recently bought one of these which I have been really impressed with. They are made by a company called Karrite which is owned or part of Thule, so the quality is excellent.

I ended up paying £140 for a new one, not having seen anything nearby on eBay (where prices are often very strong for roof boxes I found.)

The box is about half the width of the roof which is ideal if you want to use it with bike carriers or something else alongside. Other nice features are that being a Thule group product, it uses the same locks and keys as other Thule stuff.

Finally, I found it light enough to fit and remove on my own and nice and quiet on the move.

Nice box, Chris.
Been some v.expensive ones on fleabay, some reasonable ones too...
But big!Confusedillyme:
Was bidding on 2 until discovered they were 93" in length!!!
Measure the roof on your Berlingo and see where 93" is?
Think it equates to 7' 9", that is HUGE.Confusedcratch:
Too big for what I want (need), and would look obscene on the roof.
Got to be close as well, collection is better than trusting couriers and expensive.
Keep on looking.

I was trying to find one as well that wasn't massive so that it would work on the Berlingo. If you just use the Berlingo's built-in bars, then the box should sit nicely in the middle of the roof, though to be honest, I have only used it on our Volvo so far. The other one that I looked at was a Halfords box which is the same volume (360 litres) but was an extra £50

I didn't have much luck with eBay, as they either went for lots of money, or were too far away to make it worth collecting so I ended up buying from the company that I linked to above.

Must apologise, no luck with the "Wombling" yet Martin...

Looking forward to making good use of the things that you find, things that the everyday folks leave behind.

Can't remember the third verse....Confusedcratch:

Don't believe that for one minute..... bet you've got the original autographed single stashed away somewhere in your record collection.

Mike Batt was the bloke wot wrote it originally :lol::lol:

Indeed.
Got to No.4 in October 1973.
Chris Spedding (of Motorbikin' fame) played Wellington, Clem Cattini (of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates fame) played Bungo and Mike Batt himself played Orinoco.
At great loss to the whole music world, The Wombles split up in early 1976.
They were the Take That/Spice Girls of the mid 70's and my world was left shattered in a thousand furry pieces.
Don't forget The Wombles are playing Glastonbury this year.
(No, really, they are.)

Yes I know, they invited me to play in the tribute band on drums, you can't beat em....Hee Hee
Saw the Pirates, sans Johnny Kidd of course, many years ago at the George Hotel, cracking gig still got the live album.

Something is happening to my body,

I'm shakin' all over!, must be the wine I'm drinking spode-ode.

Back to Glasto theme, I'm just reading John Peel's autobiography, quality read.

(With apologies for straying off topic)

Meanwhile I will maintain "Skipwatch" for you Martin
