When electrics go silly always check earths first. Especially check any connections to earth from the steering column

Don't know, but Haynes says on a plate on the front of the cylinder block (XUD) or stamped on the cylinder block to the left of the oil filter/cooler (DW).

Like Micoclarke I would suggest earths. Anytime electrics start acting weird, always look at earths first - both the connection to the chassis/body and the connections to engine/gearbox/alyernator etc...

Look for a TV which can run on 12volts and, again, you won't need an inverter, but a spare battery is a good idea (and jump leads)

Yep you can run your laptop and phone from a cig lighter or 12v socket with a cable as you described. Charging your phone is no problem but the 'gotcha' with the laptop is how quickly it drains your b...

Ask Citroen - in theory they should do it because it was a manufacturing fault, so may be worth asking them - they'll probably want the chassis number

I find my 2004 2.0Hdi starts best from cold if I turn on - wait for all the dash lights to go off, and then operate the starter.
