The oil and filter needs to be replaced on these engines every 9k mls not the 15k mls recommended..:-)

If you have a bosch pump then you should be o.k.....I have ran veg oil mixed with alttle kerosene to make it less viscous on my 96 406 and it ran fine...:-) Change the diesel filter often and remember...

I have used droplinks from ebay before and like that they only lasted a short time...I usually get them from my local autofactor now. Delphi make good quailty droplinks..:-) Ron.

Your one step ahead 800HDI..:-) The 1.6 hdi are a great little engine but they require regular servicing and the correct grade of oil used....5w 30 fully syn is the correct oil for these..5w 40 for ho...

You will also find it on the lower part of your windscreen (Passenger side) it should look like this vf7gb9hxc12345678.

As said above if the wrong oil is used in these engines it will cause sludge build up within the engine....a quick way to check for sludge buildup is to remove the vacuum and you will see the sludge b...

The 1.6 hdi engines can suffer turbo failure due to poor servicing and incorrect oil been used. I have always used mobil 1 5w 30 and i always change oil and filter every 9kmls not the 12k mls as recom...
