Cable routing....

Strange request I know....But before I start pulling up carpets....

I'm putting in a split charge for a separate leisure battery. Is there an easy route from the engine bay to the cabin ? Driver or passenger side, either would do !

What year van? From memory on a mk2 there's a big grommet on the firewall behind the instrument cluster area width wise, and about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way down, from memory it's kinda hidden but is there

On the mk3 2nd gen I don't think there a hole in the fire wall a member on here remove the n/s plastic wheel arch cover there s a grommet near the bottom of the arch they fed it through there .??

OK, found a way through.

Thee is indeed a small grommet behind the wheel arch, leads into cill.

After lifting carpet, you il see a handy exit for your cable.

I cut a hole in the grommet and threaded my cable through. Cable was armored along its entire length for protection and where it passes thro any holes. Then I sealed all entry points with Sikkalex


At the other end, simply thread it over behind the wheel arch protector and into the engine bay. No drilling needed.

The moulded carpets are an utter pain to deal with..... unbelievably ornate !  See below..(mine is a multispace, maybe the van is simpler.) Citroen seem to just randomly scatter the wiring around, all wiring you can see below is factory positioning...

Wow it's amazingly bad the way they leave the wiring all over the place with no protection no wonder they have so many electrical problems .
