Hi.
I mentioned earlier how my heater matrix is leaking, so this post is kinda related to this.
Sometimes when I stop at the lights, and when the sun is out, I usually see faint wisps of steam coming out the sides of the bonnet's gap. Is it possible that it's the coolant being burnt off, or could it be something else? I know I have a slight oil leak, so not sure what to make of it?
Thanks.

Both oil and coolant really, but it's a slight amount (not much).

Just a couple of things to check
1. Any white gunge in the oil filler cap
2 any gunge in the expansion tank
A lot of the problems are related to gunge in the cooling system which blocks the matrix and causes back pressure problems. You really need to flush the cooling system but also back flush from the matrix to the radiator. I normally do this after I have drained the system .
Check these points and let us know

You can sometimes see steam coming off the radiator from any moisture (rain / condensation) trapped within the fins of the radiator.
