hello again i put a thread on a few weeks ago asking about which battery i should get, but now i,m thinking it might be pointing to other reasons, when the car eventually fires lots of white smoke appears from exhaust, is this glow plug problems, any advice appreciated .

Seems like they are faulty, try a search for glow plugs and how to check them
Faulty glow plugs usually show as white smoke /difficult starting. It could be the relay that controls them or other reasons but check them first. There are posts on how to check/test them

I had exactly the same problem as you describe in your other thread. I read around and it seemed to point to the glow plugs. As I was having a new timing belt/alternator belt fitted, I decided to replace them at the same time. Sure enough, on taking them out and testing them we found that two were dead. Put a new set in and it kicks right in now, no hesitation at all.
