Hi all

My 2005 1.9d Berlingo has started to completely lose power from around 1500 - 2000rpm.. The engine starts first time every time in idles great. Its OK under acceleration up to around 1500 revs but then its just holds back and makes a strange engine knocking sound. If i put my foot down it picks up again and seems fine.

Any pointers very much appreciated

Changed the fuel filter?

Fuel filter done recently. Not done a compression test. What would it tell me?

A compression test will tell you if you are getting equal power from each cylinder.On the 1.9 it is worth checking the valve clearances as they are known to tighten up above 100,000 miles or so. :woop:
