The fan for the heater on my Berlingo 08 only worked at speed 4 so i replaced the resistor pack and all was well. It lasted for about a year and went again. I replaced it again last month and it only lasted a few days. Anyone suggest what the root problem is.??
Hi Peadar the most lightly thing is the bearing on the heater fan as got dry and not spinning freely and the drag making the resistor pack to overheat it's a new fan motor me think's

Thanks Jed. Is there anything I can do to free up the fan or how do I check if that's the problem?
The only thing you can do take the heater a part and get to the point you can spin the fan by hand to see if it's lumpy stiff to turn if it is the best thing to do is put a new motor with fan in you could oil or grease it but won't last long

Thanks Jed. Someone told me that I could get a resistor pack with stronger resistors on it with the same resistance but capable of taking more current. Any views on that?
I would not recomend doing that citroen electrics wiring is not the best and you do more damage than what it's worth over heat and melt the wiring it's beter to check and replace the fan

Thank you Jed, I will have a crack at it next week
