In the EOLYS versions (non adblue), the big cylinder after the turbo houses two "devices" inside: the catalytic converter and the dpf .Top half of the cylinder is the catalytic converter, the bottom half the dpf. in motors with no dpf, the catalytic converter will still be there... The box you indicated may also be an exhaust gas heat recovery system, fitted in vehicles for colder climates/for faster heating of the radiator water/heating system;
