Hi All, just a few days into ownership of a 16 plate 32k mile Berlingo Bluehdi XTR 100.

It's a nice upgrade from our 2003 Berlingo 1.4i.

The only issue is what I feel is an excessively noisy gearbox. It whines quite loudly in 3rd and 4th between 30 mph and 45 mph - right where you don't want it. It's quite whirry indeed.

It's really quite loud and a bit like an old metro to listen to. You can hear it over the radio.

I was wondering if this is normal?

What kind of response can I expect from the supplying dealer? " Oh they all do that" or "well it still works and hasn't failed so suck it up"

Bit disappointed really and want this far to run for years.

Appreciate any pointers/ advice.

Thanks very much.
Cant say mine whines but i find some of the modern gearboxes can a bit noisy.
Try changing the gearbox oil,I recommend synthetic. My B9 box is silent.
Is it the gear box or a wheel bearing ?

.
Thanks all.

I think it's definitely diff/ final drive noise.

I'm probably best taking it back to the dealers.

Loving the torque of the engine. It makes me laugh that it puts out as much pulling power as an old 3.4 Jag I used to have but does close to 50 mpg where as the Jag did low teens.
No noises from my 2010 Berlingo.
Gearbox is one of the few things that doesn't rattle on my B9, currently chasing down a very annoying resonance/vibration behind the dash, drivers side.
