Good evening all. A month ago or so I replaced all 3 engine mounts as the engine (1.6hdi) was very shaky while pulling away. New mounts changed things for better slightly and I'm suspecting the clutch to be the cause anyway, however I had a look at the left hand side engine mount today (the one under the power steering fluid reservoir) and it just didn't look right to me (photo attached). I looks like the two rubber bobbins are not snug between the main bush and the car body creating gaps on both sides. Please can someone advise if that's how it should be. Thanks in advance.

Seems normal to me from the photo, but will check tomorrow on mine and put a photo. Do you mean a gap on the sides or from underneath?

Yep - looks fine toe as well. I think these M59 engine mounts are too soft - my HDI engine has juddering/oscillation that stops when the weather is colder (and the rubber mounts harder). I changed mine + fitted a PU torque dogbone bush and it still does it.
Harder mounts are available but tend to be specialist parts for GroupN rally/fast road 206/306 etc and I haven't gone down that route yet.

Mine juddered too, at least before the oil pump ate itself.
Got a new clutch & bottom engine mount & driveshaft going in with another engine soon.
I will be well p*ssed off if it still judders.
