I am just about to buy a 2nd hand 2011 Berlingo with a 7 seat family pack option. I have owned a Mk1 Berlingo for 5 years, and it's been good.

Looking inside the new one it looks like the middle (normal)row of back seats has been moved forward 100mm or so to accomodate the 3rd row of seats. This means that the leg room for people at the back is now pretty tight. Much more so than our current old berlingo. Does anyone know if this is correct? I have tried looking on the Citroen website and there are no comparative measurements.

Thanks, Will
Yes, I looked at 7 seater version recently ( from outside only ) and the seat are moved forward to accommodate the third row, plus the boot space is less. But that's to be expected. But considering that the " normal " version has great rear legroom I expect the legroom on the family version to still be ok , but unfortunately I didn't get to sit inside to test it.
Another thing to consider with a 7 seat version is that if you get rear ended at speed the folks sitting in the rear most seats have a good chance of being turned into jello. I'd never get a 7 seat model for that reason.
Yes, they are moved forwards a bit - a couple of inches. You lose about couple of inches of boot depth as well, as the mounts for the very back row of seats takes that space up. But it also provides a couple of cubby holes.

The very back seats are better than most occasional seats (That's all they are, its not a proper 7-seater in the Galaxy mould) in that an adult could sit in them. But I'd not want to be in them for more than a short trip. At least the seat base is more than an inch off the floor. Ours spend most of the time folded up, but when we need the boot space they're easy to get out, as are the middle row.

And just to add, we've not had any complaints about legroom. I've sat in the back once or twice. I have the drivers seat almost the full way back. Whilst its tight to get in like that, once in its fine as the seats are so high from the floor.

Any chance of some pics of rear seats up/down etc ?
I'll try, but time and light make it tricky.
Thanks everyone. I've bought the car, the kids seem to like it so far,
Pics, please of new car ( esp interior shots ) Hope you enjoy it.
