Hi All

Found this forum online and hopefully I can get some advice.

I have a 52 reg Berlingo 1.9D, 103k, Cambelted, runs superb.

BUT! One day, lost PAS and saw the Aux belt had snapped, I didnt think anything of it and replaced the belt. However, as soon as we started it, it would throw the belt off line and it would be one groove over the edge on the PAS Pump pulley. And if you drive it it eventually throws the belt off all together.

Is this a known/common problem, all the pulleys/tensioners "look" to be fine but obviously eye sight cannot always be trusted

Thanks Smile
Hi,
Assuming you have the correct belt and the tensioner is ok I'd suspect there is a pulley not running true. I'd check all the pulleys for play with the belt off.

I agree with Landmark.Confusedalut:
I reckon it's most likely the top sprung loaded tensioner needs replacing. It's a similar set-up to that discussed here:

One of the tension rollers is worn and is running at a slight angle.
