That is if it has gaskets , some don't and rely on a bead of silicon to act as a gasket. If there is a groove round the cover then its a gasket you need , if not a tube of silicon has to do as a gasket has nowhere to sit in and will squeeze out when pressure and heat is applied. Some sumps are the same set up .
You don't know until you take off the cover.

Some years ago on a 55 plate 1.9d I needed new gaskets and found the top one was available from a motor factors and the bottom one was only available at main dealer as part of a full engine seal and gasket kit for well over a £ton.

I bought the top one and used "mastic " sealant for the bottom without issue.

As post above you need to look and see / ask at dealer with reg no to see what is needed.

With mastic it is best to read the manufacturers instructions and also seek advice if not familiar with its use for to just apply the stuff and wind down the fixing bolts untill they go tight generally doesn't work that well.

I did wonder... Dodgy

I've used blue gasket compound before,
you apply then let it dry before assembly..

Stripped the covers of the engine..
Looks like someone's had a go with sealant,
it's been leaking in various places
