My Berlingo 2001 diesel 2.0 HDI has been stationary for eight years. After the battery is switched off, the car will not start. I have received the P00C8 error code. How do I check that the fuel pressure regulator is broken before I buy a new one? Do you have any other ideas on what the error may be? Diesel pump seems to work, it sounds... I only get diesel right up to the injector. And then not. Please help me. I´m desperate. /Jenny

Hello Jenny, do you have an OBD device that can work with your phone via Bluetooth (ELM327 clone)? If you can use the Torque app, that may give you some more ideas.

Yes. I have tried ELM327 with another app. Is "Torque" better?

Try Torque, it is free for the basic app.
Look at the live display for the fuel rail pressure while you try to start the engine, maybe that will give a clue.

Bought "iCar soft" and try to find out the fault code:
P0100 Flowmeter signal. Short circuit to earth or open circuit flow too low. Engine immobilizer function faulty. Crankshaft - camshaft synchronizing. Operation of the flow limiter.
Question to you: How to solve the problem?

I think P0100 is the airflow meter (MAF), you can check that by disconnecting the MAF electrical connector plug, it's located on the air pipe just after the air filter, by the battery on the 2.0 HDi .Once it is disconnected, clear the fault via the OBD software, try to start the engine and see if the fault comes back or if a different fault shows up.
The other faults, do they also have codes?
From reading your list of faults & that the engine has not run for 8 years, maybe you also have some damp electrical connections
