Eco-mode behaviour . . . .
#1
My Berlingo seems to have a mind of it's own - randomly running in eco-mode

or not on a trip by trip basis.

Trawling this forum, at least the first 30 pages of it, this seems to be related to

the Battery condition, or at least the Gel-pack "part" . . . ?

More alarming seems to be the fact that charging a device via the Cig. Lighter

socket can affect the ability to run in eco-mode . . . . giving the impression that

the System is "on the edge" of usability . . . .

Is this telling that the battery needs changing?

The car starts in a flash so I would say that the battery is in good condition . . .

Also, is it generally recommended to acquire a Lexia device of my own to

"administer" the vehicle . . .?

I'm fairly computer-savvy in a general way and have had some small experience

with similar devices, with a friend's Merc and BMW cars.

It DOES seem surprising to me that Citroen Dealers are currently using diagnostic

SW that runs on WinXP?

I would be interested to know what the "Forum View" is on Lexia and the others mentioned?

What model do you have?
I have experienced a similar problem with my Eco stop system. Mine's a 2014 Airdream 90 auto VTR with 35K up. From reading owners experience on the forum it seems that others found that in winter, running with the heater fan on, wipers, headlights and wireless too the Eco stop won't work. Not until you've driven fast for a while.

The other day I inflated my tyres using a plug-in inflater in the cigarette lighter. It took a very long run afterwards to get the Eco thing working again. Next time I'll pay at the garage for air.

Thanks <rnamman>

My Car details are in my Signature strip . . . .

This is not good news.

It makes no sense to me to offer a "feature" that works by the skin of it's teeth in this way . . .

Insufficiently developed and badly implemented - A "Work in progress" at best Dodgy

What's the battery voltage with the ignition off, and what is it with the engine running?
(You may need to rev it a bit to get it to sart charging properly)

Thanks for that. Mine is having annual service & MOT in 3 weeks so I'll get the dealer to check the battery. Ages ago on the forum someone mentioned a good replacement battery - Varta ?

I actually consider it a blessing that this doesn't work on mine even after a 230 mile trip.its a pain and when it did work I switched it off every time I got in.

Lexia is a thing of the past now & Diagbox was its replacement .
B9 Berlingo’s cant be diagnosed correctly with Lexia.
Not sure if the dealers still use either of these systems anymore, the new way is to be online to the Citroen servers , anyone with an account pays for each vehicle they diagnose & there are extra functions that can cost more, such as programming new extras in, such as Towbars for example.
Not sure what the dealers pay for this service , but we pay €35 for 1 week on a specific car.
Most other manufacturers charge by the hour, which is a lot better if you only have to do 1 job.
