Just wondering what youre asking for it !! i have same model and year but a forte ,my neighbour is nagging me to sell it to him ,but he wants for next to nothing !!! thanks

Because my Bee looks a bit unloved, people frequently leave flyers under the window offering to buy it - and I bet they would offer peanuts too! Then they'd take it straight to a scrap yard and make an instant profit.

My Mucker, just as an experiment, see what you could get for yours if you were to scrap it. Prices depend greatly on location (bro was offered £300 for his car in Telford but nothing in Shrewsbury), but I have a feeling it would be more than your neighbour wants to part with.

I noticed recently that asking prices on eBay are going up and offerings getting thinner on the ground. These days people ask £1500 for one in good nick with 150k miles on the clock; a couple of years ago that would get one with half that mileage.

As Zion commented recently, when the ban on all new petrol/diesel cars comes into force in about a decade, second hand prices will go through the roof. The trend might already be starting for cars in the best nick.

Keeping old bangers on the road might soon become more financially sensible than scrapping and starting again. Depending on taxes and tolls of course.

Rasputin around here if they pick it up its about 70 quid but if you can drive it in or get it towed in its 100 quid this was about 5 years ago,this is the last time i scrapped a car (ford ka my stepsons car which he learned to drive in ) as for my neighbour he offered me 300quid a fortnight after i told him i just spent 250 quid on it (glow plugs plus relay ,new battery and 2 tyres ) its going so well now i dont think I'll sell it !!

I wouldn't sell it either. I think your neighbour was being deliberately cheeky, assuming you'd make a counter offer.

My experiences of scrap prices varies greatly. I got £300 for my last Berlingo picked up back in 2017 I think, but it was driveable and had a few month's MOT left. And as I said, in 2019 my bro got offered nothing for his Vectra within Shrewsbury even if he delivered it, or £300 collected if it was in Telford, so we towed it there.
