Oil Pressure Switch
#1
Hi,
Its for my dads 02 1.4 petrol Berlingo.
Noticed that his oil pressure switch only has 1 wire going into it, and looks like theres a stump on the plug where another wire used to be, or has been cut.

Is this normal? I thought would need a live and a earth.
The car was repaired by insurance after a crash, radiator and everything got done, so im wondering if it was damaged then, and not repaired?

Its just under the housing for the oil filter (paper cartrdige type)

If anyone could look at theres and tell me if theres has 1 or 2 wires, might have a heatshield wrap around it .

Thanks

Hi, If it's the oil pressure switch it will only have one wire as it switches to earth when there is no pressure. What is the Fault you are getting ?? Confusedcratch:

Hi thanks for the reply.
Im not getting a fault with it, or any oil light coming on dash, i just noticed it, thanks for the reply.

There is a fault with van stalling and low rpm only when cold, i have another thread open in here.

Diagnostic showing cylinder 4 misfiring due to low fuel level. also showing vehicle speed sensor problem. But no symptoms of that being faulty apart from fuel management is off.

I took injectors out, cleaned number 4 and cylinder 4 misfire fault hasnt came back, but VSS problem still there, so have ordered part. I dont see how this would effect fuel management only when cold though.
I have replaced the ECT sensor, cleaned injector on cyl 4, replaced spark plugs, replaced air and fuel filter, cleaned throttle body out.

On diagnostic the air intake temp sensor seems fine, so I am now stumped lol.
