Hi all I have a 2001 berlingo multispace van She has just failed her mot on a couple of points (1) lambda sensor (2) brake loading valve linkage seized. Can anyforum user please explain and give some help on were the lambda senser is located ? (I have just ordered a universal 4 wire as advised this will do the job) bit of a diff in price £75- when a universal is £16 on ebay.
I also need help and advice on locating the brake valve linkage as seized . Advised a tin of WD40 and ajusters should do the job ??.
Garage was impressed at codition saying there was no rust . so worth keeping many thanks to all for your time . Regards

Hi Rolls,
Someone will no doubt also mention not to type in capitals as it's considered "shouting" in forums. Anyway, you will have 2 sensors, one before and one after the cat. Do you know which one has gone? (It's usually the first/top one)
The load valve is inboard of the rear offside wheel. Just follow the brake line back from the wheel cylinder.

Hi Rolls,
When you lift the bonnet you will see the sensor in the centre and at the front of the engine in the exhaust manifold. It looks like a spark plug. There are special sockets to unscrew them because you can't get a normal socket or ring spanner on to undo because of the wiring connection. However, if an openended spanner won't unscrew it, and your happy it's duff, then you can cut the wires off to get a ring spanner on.
Please check the exhaust down pipe on the other side of the cat to check there isn't a second sensor. There is on our 2002 1.4 Multispace and as I understand there needs to be 2 (either side of the cat) to monitor that the cats working properly. I just want to make sure you're changing the correct one.
Regards,
Griff
