Window Tinting
#1
Well having had my last car windows tinted, Limo tint I'm looking at the following seller on eBay. His feedback is OK.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-BERLIN...960wt_1346

Has anyone used them, Is it a good product??
I cant afford to have it done by a professional and I'm guessing if you can keep it spotlessly clean when applying the tint it shouldn't look too bad.

Has anybody done this to their Berlingo lately??
I think it will look great with the metallic silver paint.

I would be getting 5% for all the windows except the front passenger and drivers window.

Seeing as they are pre cut that helps a lot as it has taken most of the work out of the job, best thing is to give all windows a thorough clean before and keep the window extremely wet when applying by using a water spray bottle and then squeegee the water out from beneath the film.

It can be hard sometimes especially on tailgate but the windows on lingo are pretty flat so that helps as well, tiny air bubbles can be pricked with a pin or scalpel and pushed out.
One thing to remember is the front windows are already tinted so you cant install any window film to them as it would be illegal (just if you was thinking of doing them)

Not used that actual product, but did buy some off ebay. You get what you pay for.
I had a total nightmare doing the rear screen. It is NOT flat and a lot harder to do than it looks. I couldn't seem to get rid of 'fingers' around the edges no matter what.

I ended up getting a pro to do it for £50 as I was just wasting money trying to save money.

The side windows are easy to do as you can take them all out and do them in a good work area.
Tailgate.....nightmare.

I did say the berlingo has a pretty flat tailgate meaning not totally flat suggesting that it would be easier than a curved tailgate as i have done on a clio but had to do it in two parts because of the curve. see pics for what i am saying.

Thanks for your advice and helpfulness. I am going to have a crack at it at some point and see how we get on.

As long as i can keep things spotlessly clean and take my time think I will be ok.

And as has been metioned i can at least take 2 windows off to do them cant I.

Easiest way is to use a mix of cheap washing up liquid and water on the window before applying the tint. This lets you slide the tint around easily to place it better. Gently squeeze out any air using a sponge or squeegee. Leave to dry overnight and all should be well. This is the method that the signshop at my workplace use and is very successful.
