Dipstick
#1
My boss saw me checking my oil today and said be careful with the dipstick. They have a habit of snapping the ends off.
Realise it is plastic, but is this a common problem?
And what happens to the end...
Does it drown?
Should I be concerned?

My berlingo is on 116k and I've had no problem, nor have I heard of this particular problem before.

Just searched on eBay, and it is confirmed.
Read down the description....

Wondered if anyone else has had a problem?Confusedcratch:

I had to get a new dipstick for my Xantia when I had that as the top had broken off the top and oil was coming out of the dipstick hole, so it does happen.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4

Yes the Yellow dipstick was the older type which was all plastic, with constant heat for the oil/engine the plastic gets brittle and sometimes breaks.....if this happends then its sump off time...Smile
The newer (Orange) dipstick is alot better and it even give the engine alittle more oil...the top level on the dipstick is lower than the older yellow plastic type...Smile
