Dont take this the wrong way mate but get a haynes manual if you are asking these kind of questions you will need one.

Yeh iv ordered one but I'm stuck as it won't be delivered for a few days so I thought I would ask for advice from a forum where people know these things to save a bit of money left. thought that's what forums like this were for bit no bother obviously not

Remove the  battery terminals, follow the largest cable from the + end of the battery (It is marked +  on the battery casing). Don't get sidetracked into the engine fuse box , its a dead end . You will need to remove the engine covers and  the air cleaner pipes/ducting. At the front of the engine is the starter motor and the cable you are following is fixed to the top of the starter motor (really the solenoid which operates the motor). It is bolted in with three bolts. You may struggle to remove the rear one .

You can search on ebay for starter motors and pictures of them will give you an idea of what to look for, they are all similar looking.

 Good luck.

I'm sorry to say, but I'm with you on that one. I was stuck earlier in the week with a dead dash on mine. Didn't have manual or Haynes with me so posted on here. Don't know why I bothered. Umpteen people looked but not one reply. I'm a member on several forums and this one is the worse if them all. Just seems to be no commerardery

Indeed, there is no point in just saying 'I don't know' in reply to a query and please remember that those that may know the answer might not be on line for several days.

There are very few  'experts' on here just people trying to help.

I find the opposite, with my Berlingo (a b9) there is no manual available, so when I've asked questions I've had helpful responses .
Can't fault the forum and am very thankful for the help received.

Did you find what it was and post a fix up ? If no one knows how to fix it don't blame the forum camaraderie (that's how you spell it Wink)
So where does this bit go then ?
