engine fault & limp mode - Quin - 28-07-2018

Hi guys and girls, ive owned a 13 plate 1.6 berlingo hdi for almost 2 years, (DV6E5BE engine) the last 8 months of which i intermittently get the management light on.... Not the engine light but the warming triangle with explanation mark... Sometimes will go away... But the last week travelling more than 5 minutes brings it on and it stays on and goes into limp...

Also even if just starting up from cold, if i activate the air con it will go into limp within seconds...

Fault code reading throws air temp sensor, which ive checked and it was coated in oil but is now clean.

Looking at live data it seems to be reading accurately...

Its only done 39000 miles with fsh so is a tad frustrating...

Update.... Plugged into a mates working berlingo this afternoon... Also says -40 oil temp so thats ckearly a red herring

Looking at the data from that diagnostic scan, there are a few dodgy readings.
The oil temp will be wrong as I am sure this info is actually not monitored by the ecu because it doesn’t have a sensor.
You really need diagbox to correctly find the faults.

I read it on a different program and again got p0113 and p0238, I then cleared them.

I started the van and stuck the air con on which is the "go to" trigger... 30 seconds or so it drops out and again the hazard triangle comes up on dash with engine fault repair needed on the other screen....

so I read the codes.... nothing.... so I guessing there are other codes/faults which aren't accessible through domestic kit? my local garage only got the same 2 codes also on their snapon diag kit so is it a dealer only fix?

Just noticed my rad fan doesnt kick in when i put air con on......

It used to do this thing where it would randomly choose to run for agessss every now and again even after a short journey... Come to think of it it doesnt do this anymore.... Anybody know where the fan is controlled?
