Yep, I follow a guy on YouTube who has been testing this using batches from different dates and he found this to be the case, that's how I know. Otherwise we would march on with issues, oblivious to the actual problem.
It seems they expect most people to do at least 12,500 miles a year, which is not too far a guess for most folk. Myself, I do less than 5000, as I live 5 miles from work. Then it seems that Petrol stations will buy a pallet of 10L or 15L containers of Adblue, try to sell at ridiculous prices (£45 per 10L at a certain large-chain one local to me), then it takes them several years to shift the whole batch.
Local Aldi, £12 per 10L and guess what, whoosh, off the shelves like smoke. I'll let you guess where I bought mine last. But it will take me 2 to 3 years to use up the 10L, so I expect to have problems in the future.
The whole Adblue thing is a joke.

Probably anti-crystalization aditives would help, such as ADMAX or FORTE.

I wonder why the manufacturer didn't think of that. It could have been included in the fluid.

Is it possible to drain out the old Adblue (if you do low mileage and the Adblue in the tank likely to crystalise) and put in new?

It may be, using a small bore tube and a 12v pump. Worth a try.

There is a drain plug positioned at the nearside bottom front of the tank.
1 Torx screw holds the plug in place.
Remove it, then turn plug downwards and pull out.
Leave Adblue cap on to restrict flow.
Notes:
While lying under the car.
1. Don't drop the removed plug into the bottle you are releasing the Adblue into.
2. Don't then knock the bottle over, while trying to retrieve the plug to stop the flow of Adblue.

Lying underneath the car, it seems nearly impossible to drop the fuel tank safely enough to access the Adblue tank.
Has anyone got any tips on how best to approach this?

Your pictures didn't attach properly. We can't check in ServiceBox for the procedure unfortunately, as it stops at 2013 so I'm sure it won't have Adblue equipped vehicles.
The connectors usually need a tab to be squeezed, anywhere on the car.

hi all just having adblue warning issuess one said low level next said lowest level , topped up adblue and still the warnings are there. seen lots of information on tank cap our van is 2017 and has a non vented cap never had a recall. all points to new tank required . spoke to citreon who said due to age and mileage 133000 they would not do anything. although i told them this seems to be a common fault on berlingos and citreon were aware of this fault . anyone managed to get citreon to pay after van out of warranty any help appreciated.
