Fuel pump problems - peteb5313 - 01-06-2026 Hi. I have had to change fuel lines on my 2006 Berlingo 1.6 hdmi, including all the quick release lines and the hand primer now I do not seem to be getting any diesel supply from the tank. I undid the two connector above the timing belt and turned on ignition and there is no fuel coming out. I need to test the fuel pump but cannot find any information on fuses/relays or any wiring diagrams to help me , I have downloaded Citroen service box sedre but even that does not give me the info I need. Can anyone on here point me in the right direction for this info. Thankyou RE: Fuel pump problems - brodfather11 - 01-06-2026 Does it have a fuel pump in the tank? . IIRC the early models relied on the injector pump to pull fuel from the tank, and the hand primer to help when bleeding the fuel system. So if you have a hand primer then you dont have a fuel pump in the tank , no need for it . RE: Fuel pump problems - evdama - 02-06-2026 This got me wondering too The hand primers have a reputation for somtimes being reluctant Ive seen videos of them needing a suction pump or syringe to get them to play ball after a filter change. Cranking the engine with a dry injector pump isnt advisable. RE: Fuel pump problems - Multispacer - 02-06-2026 Had a similar problem on my 2008 B9 1.6Hdi, in that there was no fuel coming through after replacing a split pipe, even after using the hand primer numerous times. Resorted to using a large syringe as mentioned by @evdama in his post to initially get fuel flowing and even then, still needed to use the hand primer a number of times to get things going properly. |
