15" vs 16" steel wheels - 3rensho - 17-07-2013 Would there be anything gained from changing from my original 15" 205x65 wheel/tyre setup to a 16" 215x55 setup? Any disadvantages? I'm going to be needing new summer tyres when I change over to winter tyres in late fall and was just thinking about this. Thanks for your opinions. RE: 15" vs 16" steel wheels - steve valentine - 17-07-2013 The rolling radius will be just about the same. You'll notice a harsher ride though, less sidewall to take up the roughness of the road, and the tyres will be more expensive alut: http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator RE: 15" vs 16" steel wheels - 3rensho - 17-07-2013 Thank you for the response and the link. I'll bookmark that. A rougher ride I don't need so I guess I'll stick with what I have. RE: 15" vs 16" steel wheels - Clio_due - 31-07-2013 I would stick with the 15" setup, you're not going to gain anything going to the larger 16" wheels. |
