Engine Coolant - lemsworld - 15-05-2011

Sorry if this is dumb of me Confusedillyme:

Is there a specific type of Engine coolant for the Berlingo or can I use any? Noticed my coolant is below minimum earlier today

Thanks for any help

I'd want to know why it's dropped too..

WHen re-doing my Berlingo after bypassing the matrix, I simply used a standard blue coolant at a 50/50 dilution

To be safe, just make sure you top up with the same type.

There are two, blue and red. The red is allegedly better and longer lasting and also more expensive.

There's a theory that mixing the two is not a good idea as it reacts and goes all gloopy or something...

I havnt checked it since I've owned it so not sure how long it has been low for and how quickly it has dropped. How do you tell which colour? I don't remember seeing a colour whilst I was looking at it

Thank you

The red one looks more yellow coloured in the expansion tank.

Or you could drop the lot out and replace it all. I need to do mine as it only supoosedly has a 5 year lifespan and should be renewed. Mines been in there 7 years.

Ive had my car nearly 2 years, god knows when it was last done. Maybe that may be the best option, I don't remember seeing blue at all maybe it is the red

or maybe it's just full of muck! Get it flushed out and refilled with a good quality 50/50 mix mate. Cheap insurance, in my book...

There is a universal coolant available which you can use to top up any colour of original coolant.

PSA recommends BASF Glyssantin G33

From the look of these the coolant looks like the red to me as it looks yellow in colour
