When mine played up and the light was on, it would go out if I put the seat fully forward after firing up. Obviously at 6ft 2 I couldn't drive it like that but it could have been presented for MOT like that Smile
Hi tucker. Yes thanks for that it was worth a try but didn't solve it unfortunately.
Cleaned and fiddled with passenger side connector aswell but again it didn't appear that dirty so can only assume inside contacts should be ok.
I dont know if its relevant but when ignition is turned on the a/b light does
go out momentarily but then returns on. Now if say the a/b light lit up and didn't go out momentarily would this suggest anything?

Is there a way to replace the lines to the Comm 2000 unit, or does one need to buy a new unit with cables? I'm 100% sure my fault is the stupid plastic flat cables from the airbag to the Comm 2000. Lexia shows that Comm unit it ok, but "drivers level 1 airbag igniter open circuit" when quizzed further, so it must be a cable fault. I'd rather not spend £178 on a new C2k just because of the cables.

Have you checked the plug at the back of the actual airbag?
Also if you happen to have a resistor with a value of about 2 ohms, you could try putting this across the two contacts of this connector and see if it clears the fault. proceed with caution though, do Bsi shut down then disconnect battery and wait 5 mins before you unplug the air bag.

Sorry Rustscrat been busy of late, only just seen your good advice. I have booked van into local garage this Monday. Gonna charge me £30 to hook it up to diog thingy.I asked him will it tell me the exact fault? He said it would give out a code fault, and some "idiot" (yes idiot!) on the net will tell you what it actually means. What a strange comment to make Lol, Needless to say I'm feeling a little apprehensive now. Will post up the findings so you EXPERTS will hopefully advise me (the real idiot) what to do next Confusedcratch:

If the garage that gives you the fault code cannot tell you the exact meaning of this code and what work is required to rectify it, I would not be using them.

RE: Oh No Not Another Airbag Warning Light Thread!!! - DEEKY - 23-09-2013

Code fault p1f40 Ecu van interface not defined. Also p106f passenger airbag deactivation not defined.
The guy asked me if the van had been pranged? I certainly haven't had one but as the a/w/light was already active when i bought the van, its possible.
The thing is it has no passenger a/b, just a passenger pretentioner.
As its looking it may need a fair bit of cash spending on it, prob more than the vans worth. Anyone have any info on a a/w/l bypass unit with relay? How much are they?. I'm aware that the a/b wont work and it doesn't really concern me tbh.

Sounds like you have one of your comm lines down some where. I'm away at the moment but there is a post on this forum which had similar problems, try a search.

p1f40 . According to other sites scattered around the mighty Interweb, that is not a Peugeot/Citroen
code. It seems to be a code which is generated by one of the generic fault code readers. To get any realistic idea
of what the fault actually is the vehicle needs to be connected to Lexia or it's sucessor.

Well that wouldn't surprise me. The mech was using a Snap on solus diagnostic scanner.
so maybe thats why. He suggested a Citroen garage would know more about rectifying problem but at considerable cost most likely Confusedcratch: Like I say more than the vans worth. The scanners are scamming us Lol Sad

An independent Citroen/Peugeot specialist is the way to go. They can run a check
using Lexia clear all exisiting codes and then see which codes return upon start-up.
They will be able to give you a reasonable idea of what needs doing.
