Turning your Berlingo into a mini-campervan for £300 - rebeccadearden - 06-05-2014

While we vacillate endlessly between tent and campervan, we’ve come up with a smart solution for a compromise mini-camper that has cost us less than £300. It’s perfect for quick overnight stops between campsites – which saves money on hotels and saves the hassle of pitching a tent for just one night. Just take one Berlingo and four Ikea storage boxes! I've written an article about it at http://www.campfiremag.co.uk

We paid £200 for the airbeds, which is a lot and definitely not necessary (you could get decent ones for a lot less). We camp often, though, and like our comfort, so decided to get really good ones.

Yeah it looks a simple idea. Shame the Mk11 doesn't have seats you can just easily remove so looks like a non starter for the older models.

just put a double air bed in the back tryed it and fits great.

On my Mk2 03 Berlingo Undo some Torq screws on hinges at front of seats fold down seats and lift out.No prob.

Why do you need to remove the seats, get containers that are the same depth as the seats when folded forwards and just fold the rear seats forward and have such containers in the back to build up to the level of the seats folded.

The seats don't fold completely flat. They are on an angle.

Worst article ever! When I go for a nap in the van I prefer to be lower so every single by passer doesn't go wtf is that guy doing. Also I'm selling this http://i.minus.com/iG5gjOlonarok.jpg for a tenner if anyone is interested. Put another 10 on top and you get this as a package http://i.minus.com/iozHTcuRlkchG.jpg The waste of money boxes are probably 5 each in b&q. I would go to moreys and get a hardboard sheet, some legs and make entire length table, put the luggage on top of it while the bed is basically hidden under the table. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/KDIuIbrPjfQ/maxresdefault.jpg something like this. And best of all the table will be removable so you can take it outside and sit on folded chairs. Maybe I should write that article. I will call it Ghetto Camping Hardware in your Berlingo
