I've replaced both springs and looks like I have no leaks. I'm about to change the gearbox oil fully then go on a 150 mile drive. I'll check again afterwards, hopefully all is ok. |

Cheers guys. I had a look at the Haynes manual so got an idea of its operation. I stripped it down, cleaned it and and greased it. The mechanism now moves but I'll need some cold weather to check the ... |

Thanks. I did kind of think that but didn't want to force anything. I found this diagram on catcar.info which looks like it pushes on, a slip joint on a pressurised system seems counterintuitive to me... |
