Solved it yesterday. 12V for trailer switchbox can be taken from fuse 29. It's the yellow one (20A) on the left.

Side cover comes off easily, no clips which could break, just pull it to the left ( left hand versions) . |

Had to get access to the fuse box as well. You indeed need removing a few part before but that's easy. see pictures attached

I'm guessing you'd have to run a separate cable from the front. As far a I can see this is part of the tow bar cabling sets. |
