i had the same problem (floppy vauge gearstick ) i replaced the 3 linkage rods brouht from ebay and all was nice and tight again.

it seems the problem was the Clutch guide tube .the clutch was in good nick. but when apart i had a complete kit as well as clutch leaver. must say the clutch is very nice now light and smooth best iv...
