First check is the fan belt, without engine running simply press the middle of the belt downwards, it should give a little around a cm or so, if not then its too tight, if it goes beyond 3 cm then its...

Yes belts changed in 2010 when the water pump decided to break apart, literally. I still have to change both lower arm bushes plus the off side boot on the power steering hydraulics plus the anti roll...

Or you could put it in gear & rig something up to put pressure on the accelerator just enough to get the wheels turning if no one is available. It only needs to be a light weight on the accelerato...

Not a good idea to let it roll down a hill with engine off as you do not have full control of the vehicle and I do not think the brakes will work but I could be mistaken.

Your best bet is to take to a mechanic and get it check with a stethescope to pinpoint the fault, then ask how much to fix and then you can umm and ahh over it. It sounds like your not mechanical mind...
