I think the gauge on mine gets to around 100/110 (top 1/4) before the fan cuts in but drops down to normal within minutes.

How high does the gauge go ? I thought my fan was not working as the temperature would go over half way so I used to turn on the heater full blast to help it . but once when I did not notice the gauge...

My gauge also plays up 2004 1.9D what I do is always fill it up and reset the Trip-odometer I never let the miles go over 350.

I live in terrace and I am lucky to get a parking space so can't imagine charging points would work as some cars don't move for weeks.

Thanks for the input, I think that cars will become a throwaway item, which is a shame. I still like to get my hands dirty , I guess that's why classic cars go up in price.

I am afraid to say my 1.9D is neither nippy or good on fuel, I am lucky to get 400 on a tank .Does the lexia show correct throttle position when you push the peddle ?

might be air getting into the fuel line . my 1.9 has a clear fuel pipe if yours is the same you may see some bubbles. there is a manual fuel pump on the fuel filter on mine you could try pumping that....
