I nearly said the same thing about gaiters but I think it's a leather knob he wants.
Might be possible to cover a knob with the leather from a gaiter, or find a leather worker/restorer to do it for so... |

The buzzer must be wired to the microswitch on the gearstick which operates the reversing lights. Should be simple to trace its wiring and snip. Maybe it was installed for a blind driver. |

Welcome Leon. I've had two M59s, a 1.6L and a 1.4L. If you don't drive fully loaded all the time, the 1.4L is just as capable as the 1.6L and more economical, so do not feel you made the wrong choice.... |

I'd just replace the pump anyway, it is not that expensive and saves a lot of work if you don't and it goes later on. I think that's standard practice and prolly why it wasn't mentioned.
