Post: RE: OBD Red discussion

Just ordered one for my M59. For that price (£26.10 with the club discount), it's got to be worth a go. I carry an el cheapo OBD reader in each vehicle, if this can do a single thing that can't, it's ...

Is it a hatch or double doors? I've had bother with the hatch on mine not unlocking, particularly if I locked it with the remote. On inspection, the actuator was pulling the lock, but the mechanism wa...

That's the case on most vehicles, OBD records in km's and the dashboard displays it in miles. Does the old MOT history line up?

Not as much as you'd think, I was using a Vivaro (aka Despatch/Expert/Pro Ace) the other day and it was loads smaller in the back than the old Vivaro/Trafic.

I'm not too sure what the difference between a LWB Berlingo and a Despatch is either.

I suppose an easy way to see if the switch is working right is to have the engine running, open the tailgate and see how long the "nag" on the dashboard goes on for.

That's weird, mine stays open as long as the boot's open (well, until it goes to eco mode). There's a 3 position switch on the light housing though (on/off/door), maybe just flip it to on while you're...

Have a good rummage through the history. If it's had any big bills (for example, turbo or fault finding) recently, that's a bit concerning that someone might be moving on a problem car.

On the age you're looking at, I'd avoid (or at least closely inspect) a WAV because the rustfroofing where the ramp's been chopped in isn't always the best. The 1.9's will do 50mpg all day everyday,...
