Thanks everyone, I got a Breakers part of ebay for £19, the local mechanic lad fitted it for £20, solved the problem!

Thanks for the reply and the welcome! I checked the oil and its full, still max. Just noticed the timing belt has no cover, I'll get that sorted tomorrow as I know its urgent. That's started to get me...
