Oh well, stick with the quite unnecessary and somewhat demeaning comment - and I'll just keep quiet.

Maybe it's a door seal/windscreen leak and not the heater ....you said it was raining .... :(. Great that the rest of the job has been successful - down to perseverance on your part.

A standard check on a flexi like that is to look closely for cracking - usually near the fittings - but the pressure 'element' of the hose is an inner pipe, fabric coated, all protected by the outer s...

You may have got very lucky with the bleeding, but possibly taking the heater out of circulation helps! The test will be a few miles on the road - but hopefully all will be well. The throttle can be o...

Alternatively the set up requires the outer cable to be set at a correct distance, a 4mm shim placed between the pump lever and the anti-stall screw and then the idle/antistall screw set accordingly t...

Good result Mr F and even better a straightforward fix. Last week mine went thro' the Irish equivalent - an NCT - and last year the front suspension had an imbalance of 28% - max is 30% .  Took the vi...

Just clean it up and if you have any corrosion inhibitor use that.

My earlier 1.4 has the same engine and there is no EGR - I'd ignore the code as an issue if it doesn't come back and the engine is running well!

Either use a rubber 'puck', available from Ebay etc. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/155056406466?hash...R_ij15b_YA or timber at least 1.5" thick, or it will split. There is no central crossmember/point at the...

Most folk would recommend a new seal. A wipe over with Vaseline often helps them fit/seal more readily. A leak might cost you your new coolant.

The kink will probably get worse as the pipe warms up - it's not a big issue and any problem might only show itself on a very hot day - it's no different to a blocked heater matrix. The touching on th...

Haynes shows idle adjustment screw and describes how to make adjustments - could be that the cold start has stuck in the 'cold' position. 750/800 would be better.

The lower drain on mine is blanked & I'd leave it alone. The top one can be used as a bleed point when cold filling once transferred.

Just cut a suitable length of one of the original hoses, which you know will fit, and use that as the 'bridge'.  This leaves the bulkhead connector in place, a full length hose and a part length one. ...
