I still wouldn't rule out a bad battery even if newish, battery needs to be load tested to confirm. Can you try a known good battery from another vehicle? Then I would check all wiring on the starter ... |

Ahh i see because if you connect up a pressure type one and pressurize the system you would hear and see any leaks fairly noticeably. |

Yep dropped the cat on the MK2 fairy easy unsure about the mini. But good tip is cover the rad with cardboard save the fins getting damaged it will be tight. |

You should be getting 14 volt from the battery with the engine running, to test a bad battery it needs to be load tested. |

Very common problem remove wipers and scuttle panel give it a dam good clean out drain points each side will be blocked |

My first port of call now would be find the inertia switch and press that. Not sure exactly where it is on your model have a good look round the engine bay it will be a large black or red button. |
