I had a similar problem with smell and fumes. Did lots of searching checking seals, a.c. radiator etc, even extended the exhaust tailpipe as I thought fumes could be coming in that way.

Thanks Zion. Its £150 for a decent EGR valve plus the hassle of fitting it and possible programming. I'll think I'll wait until I get some symptoms before changing (other than just these codes). |

Well... the garage was correct, it was the cables. Better than having to change/repair the gearbox. That said the cables weren't cheap. Still all done now. |

For the record, the drop link I took out didn't have a torx recess in the head ends, but the new replacement did. Its a T30, a simple torx 'Allen key type' would have done. |
