Full length sunroof
#1
Hi. I have a 1998 berlingo multispace with a full length sunroof which has worked flawlessly since I've had the car until a couple of days ago when I heard a crack as I closed it (right at the end) and since then it won't close properly and sticks on the drivers side when being opened or closed. If you pull it by hand you can get it to close but not fully. I can't see what may have happened. Does anyone know how these work? I can see a sort or long flexible screw on the passenger side which moves with the roof whilst opening and closing but nothing on the driver side. Presumably if it had a similar screw it would have to be reverse threaded or something but if this was the case then I'd expect to see some signs of broken parts. I've had a diagram of parts sent from a dealer but it doesn't make it clear how it works or what part I may need. Any help would be appreciated. Nick

Ouch!
There should be a flexible screw on both sides.

Now, to get to the mechanism, though...
That means removing the head lining, and that's a rather involved procedure.
(Which I need to do myself as my sunroof is also failing, but with gear grinding and clicking sounds)
