Driveshaft Nut Torque? Mk1 2001.

Hi all,


Seeing as I'm told they're the same from the bulkhead forward, does anyone happen to know what the driveshaft nut on my 2001 Pug Partner should be torqued up to?
I have a funny feeling I read somewhere, something crazy like 225lb/ft.

Mr Haynes, he say 320 Nm / 236 lbf ft

Only one setting in Berlingo manual.

I've been told 320nm for M24 nuts and 245nm for M20.5 nuts.

I'm guessing the bearings are the same, just a difference in the driveshaft nut size.
The bearing that was supplied to me going by my reg number, had the smaller nut, but my shafts have the bigger nuts.
All went together fine and there was no play in it, but now, after about 40 miles of use, I have a creaking noise when I rock the top of the wheel with the car on the ground and also sometimes when driving you can hear it.

Think I'm gonna have to pull the hub off again and check the bearing, even though it's a new one

Oh, ok.
The wheel nuts weren't tight enough. When I put the wheel on last, I nipped them with my impact gun. I then tightened them as I would with any steel wheel to a decent tightness. Admittedly, I didn't and don't tend to torque them on any of my cars, but I've never had a problem with wheel nuts/bolts done up tight enough that I can still get them off at the side of the road with a standard T bar but not needing a power bar. This has never been a problem in the past, so I am a little surprised (and embarrassed!)
