[Brakes] ABS Error
#1
My car has developed an ASB fault.

Using Diagbox, it reports that the error code is C1331 (Front right wheel speed sensor signal fault)

I assume this is the ABS sensor that is at fault and looking at ServiceBox is appears to be easy to change - undo a screw that hold the sensor to the hub, undo a clip that helps to steady the cable and unplug the connection.

My problem is, which is the 'right wheel'
Is this the 'right' viewed from the front of the car meaning nearside (passenger side)
or is it 'right' viewed from inside the car meaning offside (drivers side)

There are different part numbers for each side, so I'm assuming they are not universal to both sides, so I need to know which one to get

Which is 'right', nearside or offside?

On my Peugeot 407 right is drivers side/offside, presume its the same.
Easy enough changed, but had to drill out the old sensor.

Right and left are always as you view the front of the car whilst sitting in it.

Nearside is where the kerb is, which will vary depending if the country you are in drives on the right or left hand.

As mentioned above, when Right & Left are used to describe a components location it based from the drivers seat point of view.

Can you swap the right ABS sensor over to the left side to see if the problem moves with the suspected sensor?

Thanks everyone for confirming this.

I had the passenger side ball joint changed by a dealer just before Christmas and ever since then, the ASB warning lamp has been coming on intermittently.
If it had been the 'left' side I would have complained that they must have done something, but as it's the other side, it's must be a coincidence.

I now know which side sensor to order

Cheers

Ordered a new sensor from my local Citroen dealer (£62.04) and have changed the sensor.
All working again now with no fault code.

No issues with the procedure and the screw holding it to the hub came out with no problems.
