#11
Have now been told I cannot replace the stereo.

Am I stuck with a Bluetooth speaker or fm transmitter?

No , if you have aux enabled by a dealer or someone with diagbox / lexia you can fit a connects2 Bluetooth adapter that hard wires into the cd changer socket on the back of the stereo creating a factory fit type solution.

Do I need to do anything in particular when connecting?

Is having ignition off sufficient? Don’t want to have any mishaps!

Ignition off and you have remove the quadlock connector from the back of the stereo to connect the Bluetooth adapter.

Don't forget it will not work unless someone has enabled it in the cars computer using lexia or diagbox to enable the aux input.

You should be able to download instructions from this page

Thanks just wanted to check.

Is it possible that it is already enabled or are they all disabled as standard?

I think I’ll be able to find someone to do it mates rates.

I just added a link to some instructions on my previous post.
They are normally disabled as it is good easy money for dealers.

Just a thought on this one ........ wouldn’t it be straightforward and no issues with company or leased vehicles to just buy a Bluetooth speaker which could be positioned on the shelf over the windscreen. These are usually charged via usb cable.
Quality of sound will depend on how much you are willing to pay.

That's how I have been doing it. But doing 70 on the motorway it can be difficult when listening to spoken word podcasts.
