Water under passenger seat
#1
I know we have had loads of rain , but water is getting in some where and pooling under the carpet under the front passengers seat.

the top of the carpet is dry , but the foam underneath is wet and its pooling in a little recess on the floor pan.

i only noticed it as i was putting the jack and took kit back and had a quick peek under the carpet.

I have  mopped it  up for now, so will keep a eye on it.

I had exactly the same. I took the van into a garage (Rex, Salisbury) who identified the windscreen top corner passenger side as being a likely suspect. This was confirmed by Autoglaze, Ferndown near Wimborne Dorset who sprayed the outside with soapy water and run an air line around the inside of the windsreen. There was a large gap which they were able to seal from the inside.

Another contender is where overlong bolts have been used to fit roofbars.

Thanks will have a look.

dont have roof bars, and the screen seems ok. no wind noise or leaks

no wet carpets in the footwells , just collecting under the passenger seat.

will have a look under the van to see if any bungs are missing and its spraying up and in from the road.

It'll be worth checking the windscreen as I had no noise either. The leak was barely detectable, and only then when the A pillar panneling was removed. The water pooled under the passenger seat beneath the jack.

Cheers will check it out.
just seems strange how it collects under the jack but the path you think it would take from the a pillar is dry...

well worth checking...

many thanks

Had a better look at the is today, and it seems the water is coming from the middle off the van.
it seems to be getting in some where around the middle of the van just by the gear box tunnel by the middle seat , and this area under the carpet is soaked, its then running under the passenger seat and pooling under there.

You could be missing a floor drain plug. Or one has popped up at one edge

I've seen cars with them at various places on the floor, but yeah usually the carpet has to come up . You could see them from underneath if they are there tho (or see the hole where it goes or can push it up with your finger if loose)

I would ideally get it in the air to have a look first anyway

Just had a quick look while the rain has stopped.

there is a large plug missing from the passenger side , just in from the jacking point.

there is one in the drivers side, so this may be it, but not sure if this hole leads to the inside of the van.

need the rain to stop for longer so i can have a real good look.
